KOSU is more than a radio station. We’re a community organization dedicated to sparking curiosity with stories, resources, events, and information that connect people. We report news in collaboration with the public, not just for the public. KOSU helps Oklahomans understand issues that are important to them and discover new things about our state.
Every month, with the support of Oklahoma State University and members of the communities we serve, KOSU reaches more than 500,000 Oklahomans by freely sharing the content we produce with other media outlets and nonprofits and by publishing on our multimedia channels including podcast, email newsletter, kosu.org, radio, text message and social media.
The next development in KOSU’s journey will be a transformative move with The Spy from its current operations on Oklahoma City’s Film Row to a renovated studio in the flourishing and historic area of west downtown Oklahoma City. The redesigned space will include seven new cutting-edge studios, as well as work and meeting areas for its growing staff of journalists and music hosts.
The new 5,200-square-foot studio will house both KOSU’s news and the Spy’s music production under one roof, fostering dynamic synergy among the organizations’ dedicated staff and nonprofit partners. This strategic shift will boost KOSU’s mission to connect people to each other and the world while continuing its investment in expanded news coverage, which encompasses politics, education, health care, Indigenous affairs, agriculture, environment and rural issues
