The Hargis Leadership Institute encompasses passionate individuals who desire to consistently exhibit exceptional leadership. We value cultivating leaders based on three fundamental pillars - identity, relationships, and leadership skills. As an Institute, we partner with other university departments, private industry, and community groups to create leadership development opportunities.
With your support, we can expand our efforts with Leadership Study Abroad to provide educational opportunities for students to study in Zimbabwe with OSU alumna and world-renowned humanitarian Tererai Trent. To provide one full scholarship for a student, the cost would be $4,000. We have 15-20 students who travel to Zimbabwe each year. The students are so passionate about the experience that they have started a 510(C)(3) to donate freshwater wells to rural schools that we are visiting while on the study abroad. Your Give Orange donation would support students excited to learn from Tererai’s leadership and create access to education through fresh water.
Lead 4 Success is an internationally accredited leadership development program for our renowned students. OSU is currently the only university that offers Lead 4 Success to students! OSU trains 100 students annually in this program but would like to see that number grow. A donation of $250 would fully support a student through the program.
The Hargis Leadership Institute’s mission is to develop life-giving community leaders. The Institute is committed to developing leaders in every sector of society who strive for the highest common good. The Institute also aligns with Oklahoma State University's land-grant mission by investing in the leaders of today and tomorrow. Through their life-giving community leadership, this network of leaders will be equipped to create better communities for all.
