Who We Are
The Oklahoma State Writing Center is here to serve the OSU and Stillwater community. We aim to develop effective communications regardless of skill level and background. At the center, we help students understand and practice many strategies effective writers use—from brainstorming, to drafting, to editing techniques. Our beliefs are rooted in the mission of a land grant institution. We empower our students by facilitating the writing process through practical curriculum and open participation. We acknowledge and celebrate diversity and growth by providing an environment in which differences are respected and students are encouraged to explore diverse voices.
Students Take the Lead
Our undergraduate and graduate students play a pivotal role in this process. They train hard to be prepared to help our clients with any issues they might face. As well as helping clients with writing, our student consultants participate in a variety of research and outreach activities that benefit both their professional development and the community of Stillwater through the advancement of knowledge and skills that active one-on-one learning makes possible.
The Power of Your Gift
That’s why we are here to ask for the support of OSU and the Stillwater Community. Our student consultants work hard to help the Writing Center’s student clients and the community of Stillwater, but they need your support to afford these opportunities. Any donation made would go to supporting our student consultants in attending professional conferences or towards providing more opportunities to the Stillwater/OSU Community such as our current outreach efforts (more info found here).
