The Doel Reed Center in Taos is a truly enchanted place to learn and has become one of OSU's most vibrant and sought-after educational experiences for both OSU students and leisure learners alike. The Center attracts visiting artists and scholars to produce original works, teach seminars, and collaborate with creative minds of any age or academic discipline.
Looking back at the 15-year history of the Doel Reed Center in Taos, there have been many dedicated individuals that can be credited with the success of transforming the property from a family home and personal art studio to what the Doel Reed Center in Taos has become, a thriving educational center and a point of pride for OSU.
When Burns Hargis became the President of Oklahoma State University in 2008, he and Ann became significant forces for driving the project forward. Thanks to the leadership of Burns and Ann, and many private donors, the existing buildings on the property were renovated, a beautiful outdoor classroom was added, and programming was expanded to offer diverse and interdisciplinary credit courses. Leisure Learning classes were also added, which bring hundreds of OSU alumni and friends to Taos to participate in classes covering a variety of topics.

The future of the Doel Reed Center is bright, and it is now up to us to continue the Hargis legacy of supporting the center and broadening its reach. Please consider a gift to Doel Reed Center Enhancement Fund to honor the legacy of Burns and Ann Hargis and all that they have helped accomplish at the Center.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous Doel Reed Center Advisory Board member, the first 10 gifts to the Doel Reed Enhancement Fund will unlock an additional $1,000. Gifts will honor the commitment of Burns and Ann Hargis to the Doel Reed Center in Taos while providing funds to further enhance the property and programming of The Center.
