OSU is proud to be home to thousands of first-generation college students, faculty, and staff. First-generation students come from families where neither a parent nor guardian has a four-year degree from a college or university. Since 2009, OSU has seen a 223% increase in first-generation students, who now comprise nearly one-fourth of the undergrad student body.
Oklahoma State is dedicated to supporting and serving anyone who identifies as first-generation. Programs like F1RST2GO provide support for first generation students through mentorship, creating holistic models of support and strengthening the sense of community amongst first-generation students.
Giving to first-generation student programs ensures that these students are always supported, encouraged, and able to continue their education to eventually wear the teal graduation cord with pride.
