Cowboys United is OSU's newest fundraising campaign that seeks to address a singular, current need at Oklahoma State University each year. The event’s focus will change annually, starting with putting a spotlight on mental health.

Across the nation, the need for mental health services on college campuses has outpaced the available resources. Among college students nationally, in 2021 over 37.2% reported having been diagnosed with at least one mental illness. 

This trend is apparent throughout the OSU Stillwater campus, where mental health is becoming an increasingly larger priority to students. In a 2019-2020 study, 42% of OSU students reported that they have received psychological or mental health services, and 76% reported that they would consider seeking help from a mental health professional. 

Oklahoma State University Department of Wellness is proud of the available resources they offer students and their tiered approach to counseling services on campus. However, there's always room for improvement and OSU is committed to removing barriers to accessing care and expanding resources.

Every dollar raised through the Cowboys United for Mental Health campaign will have a direct impact on the lives of OSU students. These funds will be used to enhance existing mental health services as well as provide new and innovative resources, including a clinically managed, online community for each OSU campus, graduate and doctoral assistantships, additional free counseling sessions, a mental health referral fund, student organization funding and more.

Yes. Each gift will receive a receipt for your contribution. If you selected a perk with an associated benefit, the fair-market value will be deducted from your gift when applicable. We generate a gift receipt and send it to you for tax purposes usually within the week we receive your gift.
