The Doel Reed Center in Taos is a truly enchanted place to learn and has become one of OSU's most vibrant and sought-after educational experiences for both OSU students and leisure learners alike. The Center attracts visiting artists and scholars to produce original works, teach seminars, and collaborate with creative minds of any age or academic discipline.
Looking back at the 15-year history of the Doel Reed Center in Taos, there have been many dedicated individuals that can be credited with the success of transforming the property from a family home and personal art studio to what the Doel Reed Center in Taos has become, a thriving educational center and a point of pride for OSU.
Doel Reed property enhancements continue to be the priority for the remainder of the fiscal year and into the near future. Enhancement funds will be needed to replenish the dollars used on the recent projects (ramada, parking, landscaping). Additional funds are needed to address critical improvements/repairs required to keep the property in working order for the upcoming year.
We must continue to enhance the Center's facilities to forge additional partnerships and deeper and more meaningful experiences for our course credit students, Leisure Learners, and the community of Taos. Because we had a ramada, paved sidewalks, handicap parking, and beautiful garden updates (all recently added and generously funded by donors) we were able to continue and maintain and enhance the valuable OSU resource of the Doel Reed Center in Taos.
Please consider partnering with us to sustain Martha's vision at the Doel Reed Center for the Arts! Gifts ensure restoration and expand the use of the property provided through the original Reed estate.
